Did Patrick Mahomes really boycott Bad Bunny for Charlie Kirk? The truth behind the viral post

Send Push
Patrick Mahomes , the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, is trending online after a viral Facebook post claimed he said he would boycott the 2026 Super Bowl if Bad Bunny performed at the Halftime Show. The post also claimed that Mahomes would join Turning Point USA , a right-wing group founded by Charlie Kirk . The post was shared by a fan page called Sunday at Arrowhead and got over 210,000 reactions and 10,000 shares. But all these claims are false. Patrick Mahomes has never said he would skip the Super Bowl or support any political group. There is no record of Mahomes ever talking about Bad Bunny or Charlie Kirk. He did not make any public comments about Charlie Kirk’s death or the upcoming Halftime Show.

Patrick Mahomes never spoke about Charlie Kirk or Bad Bunny
Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University. After his death, false social media posts claimed that Patrick Mahomes made statements about him. But Mahomes never said anything about the incident.

Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, made a small post on Instagram a day after Charlie Kirk’s death. She shared a quote from author Sharon McMahon that said, “Hate is not the solution. It only causes harm and destruction.” That was her only comment related to the situation.

In August 2024, Brittany faced backlash after she liked a MAGA post on social media. Some users accused her of supporting political agendas.

Patrick Mahomes later defended her, saying that people who post hate online have “deep-rooted issues.” Later, Donald Trump praised Brittany Mahomes for supporting his movement, but Mahomes himself never spoke about politics.

The viral Facebook post connecting Mahomes to Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA is completely made up. There is no proof, interview, or video of Mahomes saying any of the things mentioned in the post.

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show and Turning Point USA’s plan
Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican singer and rapper, is set to perform at the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Some people have criticized the choice because of his past political views and his support for Kamala Harris during the 2024 elections.

In response, Turning Point USA announced that it will hold an “All-American Halftime Show” as a counter-event to the Super Bowl show. The organization said the event will promote “faith, family, and American values.”

As of now, Turning Point has not announced where or when this event will happen, or which artists will perform. This announcement has nothing to do with Patrick Mahomes. He has not joined or supported Turning Point USA.
