New Delhi: In an urgent appeal, distressed parents of students from Delhi Public School (DPS), Dwarka, submitted a joint representation to the Prime Minister and President of India, seeking immediate intervention to "safeguard their children from ongoing mental, emotional, and educational trauma ".
The parents alleged "relentless harassment of their minor wards by DPS Dwarka management in blatant defiance of multiple judicial and administrative orders". They further said that despite being governed by strict land allotment conditions and "repeated directions from the Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi High Court and even Supreme Court", DPS Dwarka allegedly continued to impose unapproved fees, strike off names of children and use coercive tactics — including the use of bouncers — to block students' entry into the school. These actions, according to parents, created a climate of fear and humiliation for the children.
The parents urged the PM and the President to restore not just the rule of law, but the sanctity of education. "We are not just fighting for fee regulation or compliance. We are fighting to protect our children's smiles, their right to learn, to play, to feel safe. We are fighting for their future, which will decide India's future," said a parent.
According to parents, a particularly harrowing incident occurred on May 13 when school authorities, allegedly aided by police and a bouncer, forcibly removed children from the premises. "Shockingly, many were dropped off at unknown locations without parental notification, and others returned home after hours of emotional distress," claimed another parent.
Queries sent to the school went unanswered.
