Charlie Mullins OBE delivered a humiliating blow to Chancellor Rachel Reeves as GB News anchor Samara Gill insisted the Labour minister will be "gone in six months". The Chancellor has come under fire this week for a rental rule break which prime minister Keir Starmer has said she will face no further action over.
Reeves admitted she did not obtain a "selective" rental licence required to rent out her London home, and has apologised for her "inadvertent error" in not doing so. The lettings agency employed by Reeves said it instead was to blame for not applying for the licence after it assured the minister it would do so - and Starmer believed an apology was sufficient.
However, Samara was having none of it as she questioned businessman Mullins: "Would you be hiring her? Maybe she could be your personal accountant, potentially, when she's out of a job in probably less than six months?"
Mullins hit back: "No, I wouldn't put her in charge of a broom, if I'm being honest. It's nothing to do with whether she's female or male, she's a liar, she's a cheat, she's not qualified, she's not professional. I don't even think there's a place for her in the workplace, if I'm being honest.
"She is literally running the finance of our country and she can't even sort out a license or is lying on her CV."
He added: "These people need to go.
"Look, the best MP Labour have got is Steve Reed, he's come up with the idea that this four day a week work is nonsense. He's probably the man for the job, even though his strong point's not finance. He's the only Labour MP that I've heard speak common sense in 18 months."
