Prince Harry made a surprise video appearance at an event in California on Sunday. The Duke of Sussex appeared on a pre-recorded video at the Heroic Hearts Project Gala, wearing his British military medals.
The event, run by Heroic Hearts Project, was in aid of supporting war veterans dealing with PTSD. The organisation helps them by providing them with access to plenty of help including psychedelic programs, professional coaching and peer support. While Harry, 41, could not attend the event in person, he appeared on a video link where he showed his support for Heroic Hearts Project and spoke from the heart as someone who has served in the Armed Forces before, including two tours of Afghanistan.
Appearing on the video link at the gala, Harry was heard saying: "As a combat veteran and someone who cares deeply about mental fitness I've seen how important genuine veteran-led support is.
"You guys have created a safe space where courage isn't defined by silence but by showing up. Where strength isn't the absence of struggle, but the willingness to face it."
As well as wearing military medals on his suit, the duke was also wearing a poppy.
The video appeared to have been taken from outside his Montecito home in California, where he has lived since quitting royal life in 2020.
Prince Harry's video appearance came hours after the Royal Family led the nation in Remembrance of those who have served their country on Sunday.
The royals, led by King Charles, gathered on Whitehall at The Cenotaph where a two-minute silence was held and wreaths were laid.
A procession also took place.
Prince Harry has not attended the event with his royal relatives for years as a result of not being a working royal.
