Prince Andrew has dominated royal headlines for over a week now following the news that he will no longer use his royal titles in public. The decision, made with the guidance of King Charles, came about as a result of continued accusations against Andrew surrounding his previous association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
While Andrew has denied any accusations against him, what was left of his popularity has majorly plummeted, with members of the public having an increasingly unfavourable view on him. It is also believed that members of the Royal Family have kept a distance from him as a result of the recent scandals, with Princess Beatrice making headlines earlier this week as she visited her father at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Although no members of the Royal Family have commented on Andrew's latest predicaments, it is believed that the King - Andrew's brother - and Prince William have become fed up with the prince.
It is also believed these similar feelings have been echoed by Andrew's other siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.
Although Edward, 61, is believed to get on well with Andrew, 65, after what was a tricky sibling relationship growing up, it has been reported that the Duke of Edinburgh is fully supportive of his older brother King Charles' decision to take a stronger stance against Andrew.
Christopher Andersen, royal expert and author of Brothers and Wives, exclusively told Us Weekly last week: "Andrew bullied his little brother when they were younger, but they grew closer over the years.
"Still, Edward has no choice but to fully support Charles in his efforts to rid himself of the problematic Duke of York."
It is believed Anne is also supportive of the King and his decision regarding Andrew and his titles.
While Andrew was the one who said he had decided to give up his titles on Friday as it distracted from the work of the Royal Family, it is believed he was reluctant to do so. Instead, it has been widely reported that King Charles, 76, put pressure on his brother to make this decision and do the right thing.
Andrew's statement last Friday read: "In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.
"With His Majesty's agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me."
