GB News reporter Lee Harris was confronted by masked protesters as he headed to a demonstration in Southampton as anti-immigration marchers clashed with counter-protesters wearing masks and balaclavas. The independent reporter, who has appeared on GB News and BBC radio, was seen being barred entry to a pavement by three men in full face coverings, who refused to move.
Harris asked the men: "Did you want to do an interview? Do you think that you're intimidating me? Is that why you're stood like that? No, don't want to talk? No talking? Does anyone else want to talk, because that's all we're here to do, to talk. Are you down here just to protest, or is there anything more to it from Antifa?
"I'm assuming that's who you're with, Antifa, because they're the only ones who cover their face because they're scared about showing their face. Just out of curiosity, why do you cover your faces?"
Harris went on: "Why can't I film? Do you not want to be filmed? You can't even say yes or no! Do you really think that's intimidating me, because it really is not intimidating me."
He then took a swipe at the man in front of him, snapping: "Dude, your breath is a bit bad though."
The reporter proceeded to walk down a pavement full of protesters, with one man following him to block his camera with gloved hands. Harris muttered: "Okay, so these guys don't want to talk, then."
Baffled fans took to X to comment on the video, with one writing: "They're never willing to speak. It's almost like they're getting paid to be there, convictionless. Morons."
Someone else accused the counter-protesters of being "paid by the hour stooges", while someone else said: "Chatty chaps ain't they!"
