Actor Nicola Peltz has confirmed the latest project in her career. She's expressed excitement over the opportunity, which is said to be giving her more experience behind the camera, as well as another starring role on screen.
Nicola, 30, has appeared in several films over the years, including Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). It was announced last week that she will star in thriller Pretty Ugly and also serve as an executive producer, with it understood to be the first time she's held that position on a film.
It was reported just days ago that Nicola will star alongside Jazzy De Lisser and Mary Stuart Masterson in the "murder mystery". The film is said to be written and directed by Erica Dunton, who has previously worked on TV shows such as Ted Lasso, the Summer I Turned Pretty and Outer Banks.
The news was shared by Deadline and the outlet said that the film, set in North Carolina, centres on a mother and daughter, played by Nicola's co-stars. Their relationship "unravels" with the return of a "provocative makeup influencer," played by Nicola, amid a murder in the area.
Her co-star Mary, 59, whose previous credits include Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), posted about the project following the report about it. Her post on Instagram later prompted reaction from Nicola, who shared her excitement.
Mary wrote yesterday: "I'm slow to post these things, but I am so proud to be a part of this film. I had a (rather intense) ball down in Wilmington, NC with the most amazing crew and cast under the truly inspiring direction of Erica Dunton."
Further teasing over the upcoming film, Mary added: "I will have more to say and share about this magical experience later on… you are not going to believe what my movie daughter [Jazzy] and her new friend [Nicola] get up to…"

Her co-star Nicola has since reacted. She wrote beside a pink heart emoji in the comments section this morning: "Mary you're so incredible I'm so excited for this." She also shared Mary's post on her Instagram Story earlier today.
Nicola's last feature film appearance was in Lola (2024), which she also wrote and directed. The film, which marked her directorial debut, was released in February last year and she was supported by some of her in-laws at the launch.
At the premiere in Los Angeles, she was seen cosying up to her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham, 51. Nicola's husband Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his brother Cruz Beckham, 20, were also in attendance at the special occasion.
Nicola and her mother-in-law were even seen dancing together at an apparent after-party as the Spice Girls' Wannabe played. And ahead of the film's release, Victoria said she "could not be more proud" of her daughter-in-law.
Her support suggested that she was on good terms with Nicola, following previous rumours of tension in their relationship. There's since been renewed speculation about the family, with it rumoured that there's now a rift between Brooklyn and his parents Victoria and David Beckham, 50.
Brooklyn is said to have grown close to his in-laws and it's been claimed that he "doesn't really feel like he fits into" his own family. A source told the Mirror recently: "He just doesn't feel his family have treated Nicola well and now that he's grown so close to her family in the States, he doesn't really feel like he fits into the Beckham family right now."
Despite ongoing speculation about their relationship with his parents, a source suggested to the Mirror last month that Brooklyn and Nicola were stronger than ever. They were described as a young couple "enjoying their lives together".
