Jason Wilcox working on new Man Utd appointment as coach decides to leave

Manchester United chief is on the lookout for a new academy coach after Adam Lawrence left as he sought opportunities as first-team boss. The 39-year-old has had several offers and is now weighing up his options - but has left a vacancy at Carrington.

Lawrence's exit had been likely and he's looking to work in a first-team environment but is equally open to a fresh academy challenge. Wilcox and Nick Cox are now eyeing someone to replace the outgoing coach with talks already underway, reports the .

Wilcox is among those bought to Manchester under the reign and served as technical director, but did step in as sporting director. Wilcox, earlier in his career, served as academy director at and has proven himself in that capacity.

He helped unearth the likes of and United will hope that experience aids them in their recruitment process as they look to continue their strong academy tradition. The club have backed youth for years and continue to produce young talent.
