Dunelm shoppers 'love' £30 item that's 'named after' BBC legend

Dunelm shoppers have been quick to comment on the latest piece of homeware that seems to have connections to a British soap star. The £30 lamp would likely be on their shopping list - and fans of the soap and style were just as interested in the new piece that claims to "make a stylish statement for any space."

One of the new quirky lighting options to be added to the homeware store's catalogue, the £30 Kat Leopard Print Table Lamp certainly stands out from the ordinary. Standing at 41cm tall, this table lamp claims to "bring a touch of the wild indoors" with its "bold" design of complete leopard print.

On Facebook, members of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group pointed out the name could be paying tribute to EastEnders icon Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace). The person who wrote the post put: "Dunelm calling their new leopard print light Kat!"

One said: "Omg that's amazing!" Another person added: "I bloody need this!" And, a third put: "I love it. Bring out my inner Kat Slater!"

Someone else commented: "Well, what else would you call your leopard print range!" And, one more tagged a friend and wrote: "This has you written all over it!"

Jessie Wallace has played Kat Slater, known for her love of all things leopard print, on the BBC soap on and off since 2000. Her character has been known for some high-profile storylines such as revealing she was the mother (not sister) of Zoe Slater, having her baby son swapped at birth, running the local pub, family feuds, and various romantic relationships - including Alfie Moon, Phil Mitchell and Kush Kazemi.

Kat remains a major character in the soap, having been on screen for a third stint since 2018. Fans of the soap are eagerly awaiting the shake-up that will see the mum-of-three back behind the bar at the Queen Victoria pub as landlady.

At the time of writing, the £30 lamp has no reviews online. It's available for free click and collect at a Dunelm store or can be delivered to your door for an added £3.95.
