Poison Ordered Online
During the investigation, it was revealed that the poison had been ordered online. Police also found WhatsApp messages and call records linking Shashi to her alleged lover, Yadvendra.
Shashi and Yadvendra had conspired to eliminate Sunil, as he had become an obstacle in their illicit relationship. According to police, the duo ordered a poisonous substance online for ₹150, which was delivered to Sunil’s home.
Failed Attempt
On 13th May, Shashi mixed the poison into curd and served it to Sunil. After consuming it, his health deteriorated. He was admitted to hospital by his wife and mother. However, his condition improved within a day and he was discharged by doctors.
Second Attempt
The following day, on 14th May, Shashi again poisoned him—this time by mixing the substance into khichdi. Unfortunately, Sunil did not survive the second attempt and passed away.
Family Suspected Illicit Affair
In the days following his death, the family began to suspect an illicit relationship between Shashi and a local youth, Yadvendra. Ram Dhakeli later filed a formal complaint with Tundla police, alleging that Sunil’s death was the result of a conspiracy.
