Operation Sindoor: Indian Army Shoots Down Several Pakistani Drones In Punjab's Amritsar (VIDEO)

New Delhi: In a significant escalation along the India-Pakistan border, the Indian Army launched "Operation Sindoor" after multiple Pakistani drones were intercepted and destroyed over Amritsar in Punjab. The Indian Army released official footage showing several hostile drones being shot down near Khasa Cantt around 5 AM on May 10, underscoring a serious breach of Indian airspace.

According to military officials, Pakistan had deployed armed drones targeting strategic military and civilian sites in the northern and western sectors. The Indian Air Defence units responded swiftly to the drones. The army emphasised that such blatant attempts by Pakistan to violate India's sovereignty and endanger civilian lives will not be tolerated.

An X post shared by the Indian Army stated, "OPERATION SINDOOR: Pakistan’s blatant escalation with drone strikes and other munitions continues along our western borders."

They also added that, "In one such incident, today at approximately 5 AM, multiple enemy armed drones were spotted flying over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. The hostile drones were instantly engaged and destroyed by our air defence units. Pakistan’s blatant attempt to violate India’s sovereignty and endanger civilians is unacceptable. The Indian Army will thwart enemy designs."

Pakistan Fires Fatah-II Missile Targeting Delhi

In a further escalation, Pakistan reportedly launched a Fatah-II surface-to-surface missile aimed at Delhi on Saturday. The missile, which has an approximate range of 400 kilometres, was intercepted and destroyed by India’s air defence systems near Sirsa, Haryana, reported News18.

India responded forcefully, carrying out precision strikes on four Pakistani airbases. The targeted locations included Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, Murid Airbase in Chakwal, and Rafiqi Airbase in Shorkot, Punjab. The strikes were confirmed by Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry.
