Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To combat the rising threat of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and dengue during monsoon season, Indore Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Malaria Department has launched an intensive fogging and sanitation campaign across the city.
Commissioner Shivam Verma chaired a high-level meeting at City Bus Office with officials from the Health and Malaria departments to strategise the anti-mosquito drive. Additional Commissioners Abhilash Mishra, Abhay Rajnangonkar, deputy commissioner Shailesh Awasthi, superintendent engineer DR Lodhi, chief health officer, health officers, csi, garden supervisors and other officials were present.
As part of the campaign, fogging operations will be carried out not only in public parks but also in residential and commercial areas, with special focus on locations prone to waterlogging.

To ensure public safety during fogging, residents will be alerted in advance, especially in densely populated or sensitive zones.
In addition to fogging, cleanliness drives will be conducted in city parks, with special attention to proper cleaning of park premises and restrooms, removal of stagnant water sources and cutting of overgrown weeds and unwanted vegetation.
Verma also instructed garden supervisors to begin removing wild and invasive plants like parthenium (gajar ghas) from roadside areas, major intersections and city rotaries. He stressed on the need for departments to procure necessary resources and equipment to carry out the task effectively.
