Rashmika Mandanna’s much-anticipated romantic drama The Girlfriend finally arrived in theatres today (November 7, 2025), and the early reactions are already pouring in online. The film, directed by Rahul Ravindran, has opened to mixed reviews from audiences, with many appreciating Rashmika’s emotional performance while pointing out the film’s slow pace and uneven narration. Backed by Geetha Arts, The Girlfriend has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Fans noted that she brought depth and grace to her role, with some even calling it a career-best act. Some users felt the film failed to maintain engagement throughout, calling it “a slow, uneven romantic drama that struggles to hold attention.” A few went on to rate it 1.25 out of 5, stating that despite Rashmika’s sincere effort, the weak narration and sluggish flow prevent the film from making a strong impact.
