When it comes to fitness, most of us get caught up in trendy diets, expensive supplements, or intense workout routines. But actor Karan Kundrra proves that sometimes the best results come from going back to basics. The television star, often seen setting relationship goals with Tejasswi Prakash, recently shocked fans with his 12-kilo weight loss in just one month. His approach wasn’t about fads or shortcuts—it was rooted in ancient Indian wisdom and mindful living.

In an interview with TOI's TV Times, he shared that he shed the extra weight by revisiting practices that our ancestors always believed in. “Avoid excesses, eat mindfully, fast occasionally, and stay grounded”—principles most of us have grown up hearing but rarely follow consistently. He emphasised that blindly copying Western or Mediterranean diet patterns doesn’t always work for Indian genetics. Instead, he returned to cultural traditions of fasting and balance, and the results transformed not just his body but also his energy and mindset. The actor revealed that he has included ghee in his diet.

He practised fasting and mindful eating
What makes his transformation stand out is its simplicity. He highlighted that Indian practices like mindful eating and occasional fasting have been around for centuries, yet they’re often dismissed in the race toward quick fixes. These habits, he said, help in losing weight but also reduce the risk of various diseases. Further, he admitted to observing fast- not intermittent fasting, he clarified.
